"Developing excellent communication skills is
absolutely essential to effective
leadership. The leader must be able to share knowledge and
ideas to transmit a
sense of urgency and enthusiasm to others. If a leader can't
get a message across
clearly and motivate others to act on it, then having a
message doesn't even
matter."
Gilbert Amelio, former President and CEO of National
Semiconductor Corp
I agree to this statement. When a leader is clear of the way
ahead, he can effectively lead and direct his employees. His employees will
also have a sense of what to expect next. This will effectively save time as everyone
will have a goal in mind. Without a clear goal, employees will not be
self-motivated and spend more time waiting for instructions than exploring for new
ideas.
The interpretation shows a clear flow of ideas which makes it easy to understand organisation wise. In terms of content, it explains the definition of a leader, its benefits and the potential consequences without such a leader.
ReplyDeleteIn terms of language use, it is very direct and easy to pick up. However, it could be improved by being more engaging - sharing a personal example/story which can help make it more interesting.
Overall, great post and thanks for helping me gain a new perspective on what leadership means.
